The Setup
Lean Left

Use the Club's Bounce
To hit a crisp chip with a descending blow, play the ball in the middle to slightly back in your stance. Your weight should favor your left leg, and the shaft should be angled just ahead of your zipper. Instead of leaning the shaft forward with only your hands, address the ball and then lean your whole body forward (above). But never lean the club so far that the leading edge is below the bounce (near left). Bounce equals forgiveness. The thick sole helps the club slide (far left) even when it doesn't bottom out in the perfect spot.
